How to Use the Image Resizer

  1. Upload or drag-and-drop your image onto the dropzone.
  2. Choose Dimensions mode to set exact pixel width/height, or Scale % to resize proportionally.
  3. Toggle the lock icon to maintain or release the aspect ratio.
  4. Select your desired output format (JPG, PNG, or WebP) and quality level.
  5. Click Resize Image and preview the result side-by-side.
  6. Click Download to save the resized image.

All processing happens in your browser — your images are never uploaded to any server.

What is an Image Resizer?

An image resizer changes the width and height of an image without needing design software. With Webkitters Image Resizer, you can resize JPG, PNG, and WebP images by exact pixel dimensions or by percentage — directly in your browser, with no file upload required.

This is useful when you need smaller images for websites, social media profiles, email attachments, thumbnails, or documentation.

When Should You Resize an Image?

  • The image is too large for a web form or email attachment
  • A website or app requires a specific width and height (e.g. 1200×630 for Open Graph)
  • You want faster page loading by reducing image dimensions
  • You need consistent dimensions across a gallery or blog
  • A platform rejects uploads above a certain pixel size

Resize by Pixels vs Percentage

By Pixels

Use when you know the exact size you need — for example 800×600 px for a product image or 400×400 px for a profile photo.

By Percentage

Use when you want to scale an image proportionally — for example reducing to 50% to halve both dimensions while keeping the aspect ratio.

FAQ

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Your image is processed entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. No data is sent to any server.

What image formats are supported?

The tool supports JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and BMP images.

Does resizing reduce image quality?

Enlarging an image beyond its original size can reduce sharpness. Reducing size generally preserves quality well. Use the quality slider to control compression.

Can I keep the aspect ratio?

Yes. Enable the aspect ratio lock to resize proportionally — changing one dimension automatically adjusts the other.

What is the maximum image size?

There is no strict limit — processing is done in your browser, so it depends on your device memory. Most images up to 20 MB work fine.
