What Makes a Strong Password?

A strong password is long, random, and uses a mix of character types. Security experts recommend passwords of at least 16 characters that include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special symbols.

Avoid using personal information, dictionary words, or predictable patterns like Password123! — these are the first combinations attackers try.

Password Strength Guidelines

12 characters Good for general accounts
16 characters Strong — recommended for email and banking

FAQ

Is this password generator secure?

Yes. Passwords are generated entirely in your browser using the Web Crypto API. They are never transmitted or stored anywhere.

Should I save my generated password somewhere?

Use a password manager such as Bitwarden, 1Password, or KeePass to store generated passwords securely. Never save passwords in plain text files.

Can I use generated passwords for all accounts?

Yes, but use a unique password for every account. If one site is breached, your other accounts remain safe.

What characters are included?

You can choose any combination of uppercase letters (A–Z), lowercase letters (a–z), numbers (0–9), and symbols (!@#$%^&*).

Does the tool store my passwords?

No. Nothing is saved. The generated password only exists in your browser until you copy or navigate away.
