About QR Code Generators
Most free QR generators are not really free. They hand you a code that redirects through their own domain so they can count the scans, which means the code stops working the day they shut down, change their pricing, or decide your account is inactive. Printed on a menu or a business card, that is a real problem.
The codes here are static and generated in your browser. The data is encoded directly into the pattern — when someone scans it, their phone reads your URL or your WiFi password out of the image itself. Nothing points at this site, so nothing can expire and nobody is counting scans.
The trade-off is honest: because there is no redirect, you cannot change where a printed code points afterwards, and you get no scan analytics. For a restaurant menu or a conference badge that is the right trade. For a campaign you need to measure, use a service built for it.
Which kind of code?

- The QR Code Generator encodes any URL. Keep the address short if the code will be printed small — more characters means a denser pattern, which needs more physical space and better light to scan reliably.

Do these QR codes expire?
No. Every code here is static: the data is encoded directly into the pattern, so there is no redirect service in the middle that could shut down. The code works for as long as whatever it points at works.
Is my WiFi password or phone number sent anywhere?
No. The code is drawn in your browser from what you type. Your network password, phone number and contact details are encoded straight into the image pixels and never transmitted.
How large should a printed QR code be?
About 2 × 2 cm is the practical minimum for a phone camera at arm's length, and bigger for anything scanned from further away — roughly a tenth of the scanning distance. Download the SVG for print, since it scales without softening.
Can I see how many people scanned my code?
Not with a static code, and that is the trade-off. Scan tracking requires a redirect through a third-party service, which means the code stops working if that service does, and every scan is logged by someone else.
