How to Use the Image Cropper

What usually comes next
Cropping changes which part of the picture you keep, not how large it is. A crop out of a 24-megapixel photo is still enormous — the selection readout above shows the real pixel dimensions, and if that number is far bigger than wherever the image is going, the file will be too.
Crop first, then resize to the dimensions you actually need, then compress — in that order. Resizing after cropping means you are only paying for pixels you kept, and compressing last lets you aim at a file-size budget once the dimensions are settled.
If the photo came off a phone and is headed somewhere public, it is also worth stripping the EXIF data first. Cropping does not remove the GPS coordinates recording where the picture was taken.

Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Your image is processed entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. No data is sent anywhere.
What image formats are supported?
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and BMP for input. You can export as JPG, PNG, or WebP.
Can I crop to an exact pixel size?
The crop coordinates show in pixels so you can visually match the size you need. For exact pixel output, use the Image Resizer after cropping.
Does cropping reduce quality?
Cropping itself does not reduce quality — it just removes the area outside the selection. The quality slider controls JPG/WebP compression for the output file.
